Friction between different skin parts of the body result in the eruption of these skin tags on body surfaces.

Both the genders are equally prone to developing skin tags. However people with illnesses like obesity, diabetics, and amongst pregnant women are more prone to developing them on the surface of their body. According to NIH (National Institute of health), USA skin tags are common and are believed to be present amongst 46% of the population.

People generally opt for removing skin tags, when they feel embarrassed due to the social pressures of the narrow minded society we live in.
